The end of the night. At dawn (the night is divided into three watches, for the purpose of determining the times of guard duty at night. The first watch is called "the head of the watches" (see Lamentations 2:19), the second watch is called "the middle watch" (Judges 7:19), and the third watch is called "the morning watch").
